Vaccine Medical Booth

Product Management and Platform Development

The Vaccine Medical Booth (vaccinemedicalbooth.com) is a digital platform (built in Drupal CMS) developed for the Vaccine Business Unit at Takeda. It is designed to provide healthcare professionals (HCPs) with a virtual, interactive experience during and post-COVID pandemic. This innovative platform replicates the engagement and information-sharing opportunities typically found at in-person medical conferences and booths, but in an accessible online environment.

As the lead for this project, I was responsible for the overall strategy, planning, and execution of the Vaccine Medical Booth platform. This involved collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including the Vaccine Business Unit, medical communication and medical education leads, and external vendor who helped in the development and execution, to ensure the successful delivery of a congress-support channel providing impactful digital experience for healthcare professionals and congress participants.

The platform was created with the following key objectives:

  • To innovate how we engage with HCPs during COVID pandemic overcoming the limitations of traditional, in-person events.
  • To ensure that HCPs can access critical information and resources at their convenience, regardless of their location or schedule.
  • To support medical education by offering free courses, educational materials, and resources that contribute to the ongoing professional development of HCPs about dengue disease.

Vaccine Medical Booth platform addresses the need for:

  • A virtual booth that addresses the need for congress support during COVID pandemic.
  • A flexible and convenient way for congress participants (HCPs) to stay informed virtually having access to latest scientific data and research about our dengue vaccine candidate (TAK-003).
  • A virtual space for medical professionals to exchange knowledge through our medical education offerings.

High-level execution and approach:

Concept Development and Planning
I worked with the key stakeholders to define the platform's objectives, target audience, content strategy, and user experience.

Content Creation and Curation
I collaborated with medical experts who will be supporting me in the development and curation of engaging and informative materials relevant to endorsed congresses and scientific meetings such as scientific posters, abstracts, oral presentations, medical education courses and materials and multimedia resources (videos, animations, etc.) and project managed the approval of the materials in Veeva Vault.

User-Centered Design
Leveraging my expertise in user experience (UX) design, I ensured the platform was intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing. I led and collaborated with a team of designers and developers to create wireframes and prototypes, focusing on optimizing navigation and ensuring the platform was responsive across devices. The design emphasized ease of use while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards for external events and engagements.

Platform Design and Development
I partnered with a technology vendor to provide UX design briefs and develop the virtual platform (using Drupal CMS technology) ensuring a user-friendly interface, seamless navigation, and interactive features. We've executed the project in 3-months time in scope with the budget allocated for the development and go-live.

Testing and Launch
We did rigorous testing of the platform to ensure optimal performance and functionality. I also managed the communication plan for the launch of the platform to the internal stakeholders.

Launch and Post-Launch Support (ongoing management and optimization)
We perform continuous monitoring of the platform's performance, gathered user feedback, and implemented ongoing updates and enhancements to ensure the platform remains a valuable resource for HCPs during and after congresses.
